Three monocoque hangars.

The Administration de la Défense Nationale entrusted AHMA with the construction and fitting-out of three monocoque hangars. They stand in Laâyoune, Sidi Slimane and Guelmim, three cities far apart. The building is the same everywhere, yet there is only one operation to run, from one end of the Kingdom to the other.

Inside, the self-supporting roof, in curved ribbed steel sheeting, covers the whole hall in a single span. Bands of rooflights punctuate it and let daylight in. Buttressed walls, pierced by high windows, enclose the volume. Because the roof carries itself, no support stands in the middle: the power-floated concrete slab runs from one wall to the other, entirely unobstructed.
